Lifetime golf Stan Arnold (inset) invites you to visit his Golf Grips Depot store in Port Richey, which carries the largest selection of grips in the area, as well as a wide variety of other golfing items.

At Golf Grips Depot, lifetime golfer Stan Arnold says that he and his wife, May, want to help golfers enjoy the game and improve their play, while providing them with personalized service – unlike the big-box athletic stores.

Located next to Longhorn's Steakhouse on U.S. Highway 19 in Port Richey, Golf Grips Depot offers the expertise of golfers who've been on the green and in the industry for 50 years. The family-owned-and operated retailer addresses a problem that's too common in the industry: Many golfers go to corporate-run stores and buy clubs that are wrong for them and, ultimately, their swing.

"They spend a higher dollar amount and still cannot play better because of not knowing proper golf shafts or clubs, and just go by looks and advertisements," Arnold explained. Golf Grips Depot carries the largest grips selection around and installs them while you wait for just $2.50 per club, plus the grip cost. The local store also carries new and used clubs, gloves, tees, balls, golf bags, shoes and more.
Lessons, lie and loft bending, and club adjustments are also available. Golf Grips Depot also stocks women's gloves, half gloves, bags, shoes, tees, visors and hats.

The shop's selection includes quality products from Cobra, Wilson, Cleveland, Srixon, Bridgestone, Mizuno, Tour Edge, Taylormade and other renowned brands. Customers can compare their clubs with the shop's clubs at no charge. "Just go in and hit balls in the hitting area and see the results for yourself," Arnold said. "We will   even help you select the proper shafts. If you want custom club fitting, we can also do that with our tour tting system." The shop's full club repair shop replaces shafts, shortens and extends clubs, fixes broken clubs and re-grooves wedges. "When you buy golf spikes from us, we will even install them for you for free," Arnold added.

The store competes with most competitors' pricing, including major manufacturers. "Just because we are a small store doesn't mean we are higher in pricing," Arnold said. "We are very competitive straight across the   board, though we add a personal touch not available in most chain stores." New items become available at Golf Grips Depot nearly every week as the store continues to grow in order to  fit its customers' needs. "We believe that there is no other store like ours in the area that offers the same level of knowledge and service that we do," Arnold added. "Come check us out today and see the difference – and play better golf."For more information, call (727) 232-6753 or visit GolfGripsDepot.com.

Finding The 'Right' Golf Clubs Can Make The Game Easier

Lifetime golf Stan Arnold (inset) invites you to visit his Golf Grips Depot store in Port Richey, which carries the largest selection of grips in the area, as well as a wide variety of other golfing items.

Golf may not be for everyone, but anyone who plays golf can benefit from being properly fit for clubs.  As the days get warmer and fair-weather golfers are gradually lured out of hibernation, a sense of renewal emerges. A time to shake the rust off your clubs and your game; a time to turn your attention to improvement.  "If you're not fit for golf clubs, it's going to make it almost impossible to get a proper golf lesson," said lifelong golfer Stan Arnold, owner of Golf Grips Depot in Port Richey.

Aimed at the golfer who desires fine-tuning, Golf Grips Depot's custom club fitting provides analytics, attention to detail and options that many other club- fitting businesses don't offer. According to Arnold, both lowand high-handicap golfers can benefit from custom fitting. "The common misperception is that custom fitting is only for good golfers," he said. "It's great for good players and, more importantly, higher handicappers. A high-handicap golfer is not as consistent, so a fitter can take   what he uses and how he plays, and take out the right side of the course for him." "If you take golf seriously but won't get help or get fitted, you're spinning your wheels – a beginner has a better chance of improving.

At the end of the day, our goal at Golf Grips Depot is to get the right clubs in your hands so you can play better golf." Arnold and the Golf Grips Depot team begin the custom-fitting process with a discussion of your current skill level and what you aspire to achieve. Then you head   over to the golf simulator – and the real work begins.

The local shop features one of the most advanced fitting systems in the industry: the Mizuno Swing DNA system. After taking only three swings of the club, the Mizuno displays results for clubhead speed, tempo, shaft toe down, shaft kick angle and release factor. This beneficial data enables the stage to not only determine the proper club length and lie for you, but the top 3 out of 50 shafts recommended for your specific swing.

They also encourage you to test the results against your clubs. "See the difference for yourself: start playing better golf and scoring lower," Arnold added. The fitting is only $50, which is credited back to you upon purchase of irons or other products over $350. In addition to golf grips, the fully stocked retail store carries balls, tees, gloves, golf bags and much more. "For more information, call (727) 232-6753 or visit GolfGripsDepot.com.

Author Bruce Lansky once said,“We learn so many things from golf – how to suffer, for instance.”It’s no secret that golf is a tough game to master – so if you feel you should be doing better, or wonder if guidance on yourswing, yourstance, or your equipment is warranted, GolfGripsDepot in Port Richey is ready to lend a hand.

One place to start is deceptively simple: your grips. Heat, dirt and oils from your hands naturally wear down your grips – even the best golf grips age. The traction of a fresh grip selection allows you to hold the club lightly without the subconscious fear of losing the club during your swing.

Golf Grips Depot offers over 250 different 100% authentic in-stock golf grips, from brands such as Golf Pride, Super Stroke, Lamkin,Winn,Pure, NO1, and many more.
